Passive Voice of Past Modals With Excercise

पिछले पोस्ट में मैंने passive voice of modals auxilaries (shall, will, can, could, may, might, should, would, must, ought to, used to etc.) के बारे में बताया था। इस पोस्ट में passive voice of past modals के बारे में बताऊंगा।

Active Voice of Past Modals with Structure ( in english & hindi)


Modal : Could











कर्ता+ कर्म+ धातु + सकता था/सकती थी/सकते थे 
 वह आम खा सकता था। 
 तुम पत्र लिख सकते थे  












Subject+ could have + V3+ object
 I could have  eaten  a mango.
You could have writtten  a letter.

Modal : May/Might














 कर्ता+ कर्म+ शायद

+ धातु + आ + सकता था/सकती थी/सकते थे


 वह तुम्हें शायद पढ़ा सकती थी। 
वह उस दिन   शायदलिख सकता था। 












Subject+ may have/might have+ V3 + object
 She may have/might have taught  you.
 He may have/might have written  that day.

Modal : Should/Ought to











 कर्ता+ कर्म+ धातु + ना/नी + चाहिए + था
 मुझे पत्र लिखना चाहिए था। 
 हमें अपने माता-पिता का कहना मानना चाहिए था। 












Subject+ should have/ought to have+ V3 + object
 I should have writtten  a   letter.
 We ought to have  obeyed our   parents.

Modal : Must














कर्ता+ कर्म+ अवश्य/जरूर+ धातु + ना + चाहिए + था
 मुझे तुम्हें जरूरपीटना चाहिए था। 
तुम्हेंसेबजरूरखाना चाहिए था। 












 Subject+ must have+ V3 + object
 I must have beaten  you.
 You must have eaten  an apple.

Passive Voice of Past Modals with Structure (in hindi & english)


Modal : Could











 कर्ता+ कर्म द्वारा+ धातु + आ + जा सकता था 
 आम उसके द्वारा खाया जा सकता था। 
 पत्र तुम्हारे द्वारा लिखा जा सकता था। 












Subject+ could have been+ V3 + by + object
 A   mango could have been eaten by him.
 A letter could have been written by you.

Modal : May/Might














 कर्ता+ कर्म द्वारा+ शायद+ धातु + आ/ई + जा सकता था/सकती थी
 तुम्हें उसके   द्वारा शायद पढ़ाया जा सकता था। 
 उस दिन उसके   द्वारा शायद लिखा जा सकता था। 












 Subject+ may have been/might have been+ V3 + by + object
 You may have been/might have been taught by her.
 That day may have been/might have been written  by him.

Modal : Should/Ought to











 कर्ता+ कर्म द्वारा+ धातु + आ + जाना चाहिए था
 पत्र मेरे द्वारा लिखा जाना चाहिए था। 
 अपने माता-पिता   का कहना हमारे   द्वारा माना जाना चाहिए था। 












 Subject+ should have been/ought to have been+ V3 + by + object
 A letter should have been written by me.
 Our   parents ought to have been obeyed by us.

Modal : Must














 कर्ता+ कर्म द्वारा+  जरूर+ धातु + आ+ जाना चाहिए था
 तुम्हें मेरे द्वारा जरूर पीटा जाना चाहिए था। 
 सेब तुम्हारे   द्वारा जरूर खाया जाना चाहिए था। 












 Subject+ must have been+ V3 + by + object
 You must have been beaten by me.
 An apple must have been eaten by you.

Excercise :


Change the following sentences into passive voice :


  1. You should have helped him.

  2. I shall have done the work.

  3. They must have killed the bird.

  4. He should not have neglected his wife.

  5. He might have seen a tiger.

  6. They may have known the fact.

  7. You might have hurt his feelings.

  8. No one could possibly have known the fact.

  9. They ought to have respected the priest.

  10. The little child could not have done all this damage.
